WBO junior middleweight champion Tim Tzu has expressed concerns about the readiness of his upcoming opponent, Sebastián Fundora, for their fight scheduled for this Saturday night in Las Vegas.
Tszyu (24-0, 17 KOs) mentioned that during their encounter on Thursday, he noticed Fundora (20-1-1, 13 KOs) indulging in pizza, raising doubts about his discipline.
It turns out Fundora’s body type is ectomorph, which means he burns calories rapidly and needs to consume high-calorie foods like pizza to maintain his weight during intense training camps.
On the other hand, Tim Tszyu, being of average build, pays close attention to his diet to avoid unwanted weight gain.
Tszyu Comments on Fundora’s Eating Habits
“My metabolism and body development are different from his. While he’s eating pizza and burgers, I wouldn’t do the same even outside of training camp,” said Tim Tzu regarding Fundora’s dietary choices.
For Tszyu, witnessing Fundora eating pizza might seem strange as his body would react differently to such food. Fundora’s diet is tailored to maintain his weight and energy levels throughout training.
“He’s inexperienced at fighting a world champion of my caliber, but whether it’s indoors or outdoors doesn’t matter. They underestimate my boxing skills which I plan to showcase. I’ve evolved my style since the Terrell Gaucha fight,” Tszyu added. “I’ve become more strategic and precise with my approach, making my punches count.”
Porter’s Concerns about Fundora’s Resilience
“Fundora’s recent knockout defeat against Brian Mendoza raises questions about his ability to recover and make necessary adjustments. Despite leading the fight until the knockout, how will he respond to this setback?” Sean Porter pondered.
There’s anticipation regarding Fundora’s punch tolerance after his defeat to Mendoza in April. Tszyu aims to test this on Saturday night to gauge any impact on Fundora’s performance.
