CHICAGO — Magomed Umalatov remains undefeated in the PFL Smart Cage, securing a victory in a dominant performance against former Bellator MMA welterweight champion Andrei Koreshkov at PFL 3 held at Wintrust Arena. The judges scored the welterweight headliner 29-28 in Umalatov’s favor.

Umalatov, with a record of 6-0 and 3 finishes under the PFL banner, has overcome visa challenges that previously kept him from participating in the playoffs. His win against Koreshkov marks a significant milestone in his career as Koreshkov had previously clinched five consecutive victories.

By clinching a unanimous decision win, Umalatov earns three points in the PFL 2024 welterweight rankings. Don Mudge from South Africa claimed the top spot in the welterweight rankings by defeating Brennan Ward and securing six points, while Murad Ramazanov also earned six points with a first-round submission victory.

In the featherweight division, Brendan Loughnane, the 2022 PFL Champion, started strong with a first-round TKO against Pedro Carvalho. Gabriel Braga also impressed with a knockout victory over Justin Gonzalez in the final moments of the opening round, tying at six points.

The next round of the 2024 PFL welterweight and featherweight regular season is set for June 28 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
