Beneil Darish, a top-ranked UFC lightweight with a record of 22-6-1 MMA and 16-6-1 UFC, has been chosen to receive the prestigious Forrest Griffin Community Service Award. This award recognizes UFC athletes who demonstrate exceptional dedication to their community, both in and out of the octagon. Darish is honored as a recipient for 2024 for his outstanding contributions to his community through his involvement in MMA and other aspects of his life.

In a press release, it was announced that the 34-year-old Darish, who recently fought in the UFC, joins a prestigious list of past recipients, including Giga Chikadze, Max Holloway, the Nogueira brothers, and Dustin Poirier.

Darish’s exemplary work with the Shrama Foundation was highlighted by the promotion. The foundation aims to support underprivileged children by providing them with the necessary resources for success. Darish organized events like summits, book signings, and giveaways, which not only raised funds for the organization but also garnered recognition within the local community.

Additionally, Darish partnered with Promise Child Ministries to assist those in need. Together, they worked on projects such as building orphanages and supporting Haitian communities, helping individuals achieve their life goals.

UFC CEO Dana White commended Darish for his selfless efforts, stating that his commitment to serving others made him a deserving recipient of the award.

Darish and other members of the 2024 UFC Hall of Fame class will be recognized at an induction ceremony on June 29 during UFC 303, taking place on Thursday, June 27, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
