Jaron “Boots” Ennis took to social media to announce that July 13th is a date to mark in the calendar. After nearly a year, the IBF welterweight champion will be back in action, facing challenger Cody Crowley in his hometown of Philadelphia. The event will be even more special for Ennis as it will be his first fight at the Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia’s largest arena.
Ennis is eager to make a strong statement in this fight. He expressed his excitement saying, “I can’t wait to show what I’ve got. I’m prepared to defend my IBF world title with a dominant performance in front of my fans and supporters. I am ready to take on any challenger!”
For Crowley, from Canada with a record of 22-0, this fight signifies a significant opportunity. He shared, “A decade ago, I set out to become an undefeated world champion, and now it’s time to prove my worth in Philadelphia. I am determined to show my invincible spirit and fight for those who need a voice.” Crowley’s motivations extend beyond the fight with Ennis.
Eddie Hearn, head of Matchroom Boxing, sees Ennis as the future of American boxing and anticipates a thrilling performance. He highlighted, “Ennis is poised to become the next American boxing sensation, and he has all the tools to lead the sport. I look forward to witnessing Boots’ return to the ring and his continued success.”
