Sean O’Malley saw a substantial rise in his income in 2023 by utilizing various social media platforms, albeit resulting in a larger tax obligation. The UFC bantamweight champion revealed in an interview on Bradley Martyn’s Raw Talk that a significant portion of his earnings are derived from side ventures such as his podcast with coach Tim Welch, surpassing his fighting purse. He noted that his tax payment exceeded his earnings from his recent bout against Aljamain Sterling, where he took home $500,000.

O’Malley is currently gearing up for a showdown with Merab Dvalishvili, the top-ranked contender in the division, boasting a 10-fight win streak. Despite Dvalishvili previously being considered unexciting, O’Malley commended his recent efforts to be more captivating and genuine. While an official fight date is pending, O’Malley has shown interest in headlining UFC 306 in September at The Sphere in Las Vegas.
