Derrick Lewis has made positive changes and is experiencing a newfound sense of well-being.

Lewis, who recently celebrated his 39th birthday, is gearing up for his 41st professional bout against Rodrigo Nascimento as the main event at UFC St. Louis. Despite a recent defeat, Lewis confidently asserts that he is currently at his peak and anticipates delivering his best performance in the octagon on fight night.

“I’m feeling fantastic right now,” Lewis affirmed. “It seems like this is my prime time. Back in my 20s and early 30s, I didn’t feel this good. But now, I’m feeling amazing.”

Following his last fight, where he suffered injuries including torn shoulders and ear infections and ended up losing to Almeida at UFC Sao Paulo, Lewis is now free from injuries as he heads into the bout with Nascimento. He attributes his improved diet as a factor possibly lengthening his fighting career.

“Initially, I thought eating at Popeye’s was the secret, but now they’re telling me it might not be the best idea as I’m approaching 40,” Lewis quipped. “So who knows, maybe it’s just because of my size.”

While Lewis has secured just one victory with a quick knockout in his last five matches, he remains open to various possibilities in his fighting future, including the prospect of collaborating with WWE.

“We’re currently in discussions,” Lewis disclosed. “We’ve been in talks for a few months now. I was planning to visit in February to explore everything.”

When questioned about a potential signature move in professional wrestling, Lewis hinted at something akin to Rikishi’s renowned move of rubbing his posterior in his opponents’ faces.

“It would be reminiscent of Rikishi,” Lewis playfully hinted. “So stay tuned. I have a liking for removing my shorts, so you might see something along those lines.”
