Marlon Tapales displayed an impressive performance in his return to the ring, achieving a quick victory with a first-round knockout against Nattapong Jankaew. This win propels him back into consideration for another shot at a title. The fight unfolded at the Midas Hotel and Casino in the Philippines and was organized by Sanman Promotions, MP Promotions, and Viva Promotions. Tapales, a former champion in various weight divisions, demonstrated his skill by knocking down Jankaew three times in the opening round, ultimately claiming the victory. Despite a previous defeat against Naoya Inoue, Tapales continues to be highly regarded by the boxing authorities and has his sights set on reclaiming a world title.

Conversely, Tapales’ stablemate, Reymart Gaballo, faced a setback in his pursuit of a bantamweight title as he suffered a rapid loss to Mexican fighter Kenbun Torres. Gaballo, formerly ranked number one by the WBO, is expected to see a decline in his ranking following this unexpected defeat. Torres exploited Gaballo’s defensive weaknesses, managing to knock him down three times in the initial round before the fight was concluded. This defeat comes after Gaballo’s tough battle with Filipino boxer Michael Bravo and his prior knockout loss to Nonito Donaire Jr. In contrast, Torres secures his second consecutive victory as a professional boxer.
