Willow Nightingale will put her AEW TBS Championship on the line against Mercedes Mone at Double or Nothing on May 26. Prior to this event in Las Vegas, she will be facing Tam Nakano in Yokohama, Japan. Nightingale is scheduled to compete at a Stardom show named Flashing Champions 2024 on March 18 where she will be challenged by the former World of Stardom Champion, Tam Nakano.
It is noteworthy that Nightingale has expressed her interest in defending the TBS title outside of AEW and this bout will mark her first encounter with Nakano. This will be her third visit to Japan following her matches in 2022 for Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling and DDT Pro Wrestling, as well as her return in 2023 as the inaugural NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion. Although Nightingale lost the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship to Giulia after a brief reign, she bounced back by winning the TBS Championship at AEW Dynasty and is now set to defend it against Nakano.
Nakano brings a strong track record to the ring, having held various titles in Stardom, including the prestigious World of Stardom Championship. As the leader of the Cosmic Angels faction, she is a seasoned competitor with a rich history in Stardom. The upcoming match presents a significant challenge for Nightingale as she gears up for Double or Nothing.
