Belal Muhammad is set to finally get his title shot as he takes on welterweight champion Leon Edwards in the main event of UFC 304 on July 27. The fight was announced by UFC CEO Dana White on Thursday.

Muhammad, currently on a 10-fight unbeaten streak, earned his No. 1 contender status by defeating Gilbert Burns in May. This victory marked his fifth consecutive win over ranked opponents including Sean Brady, Vicente Luque, Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, and Demian Maia.

The only setback on Muhammad’s record in the past four years was a no-contest against Edwards due to an accidental eye poke in 2021. Muhammad is now looking to settle the score in a rematch at UFC 304.

As for Edwards, he aims for his third defense of the welterweight title after victories over Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington. With a remarkable 13-fight unbeaten streak, Edwards will be facing Muhammad in April.

In addition to the main event, Tom Aspinall will defend his interim heavyweight title for the first time against Curtis Blaydes in the co-main event. Bobby Green will also face Paddy Pimblett on the card, along with other confirmed bouts such as Arnold Allen vs. Giga Chikadze, and Muhammad Mokaev vs. Manel Kape, all taking place at the new Co-Op Live arena.
