WWE Hall of Famer Afa Anoa’i has sadly passed away at the age of 81.

Jahrus Anoa’i announced the sad news on Instagram, saying, “I am deeply saddened to share that Former Hall of Famer, Polaivao Leati Sika Anoa’i, has passed away peacefully on June 25th. Sika was a revered figure whose contributions and legacy have made a lasting impact. His memory will endure through his accomplishments and the many people he influenced.”

Afa Anoa’i had a successful career as one half of The Wild Samoans with his brother, Sika. They were WWF tag team champions three times, and Afa also managed The Headshrinkers (Samu and Fatu). The pair was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007, while Afa himself was recognized in the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2012.

After retiring from the ring, Afa operated the World Xtreme Wrestling promotion and coached wrestlers at the Wild Samoan Training Center. He was a part of the esteemed Anoa’i wrestling family, which includes Roman Reigns, The Rock, The Usos, and Rikishi. Afa had faced health challenges in the lead-up to his passing.

Our heartfelt sympathies go out to Anoa’i’s loved ones, friends, and supporters during this challenging period.
