After Conor McGregor pulled out of his scheduled fight at UFC 303 due to a foot injury, former lightweight title contender Michael Chandler is now set to face the symbolic BMF champion Max Holloway. Chandler, who is currently ranked sixth in the lightweight division, was originally slated to fight McGregor in a welterweight bout before McGregor’s withdrawal.

During the T-Mobile Arena event, Chandler watched Alex Pereira clinch a victory over Jiri Prochazka in a headline fight on short notice, successfully defending his light heavyweight title with a second-round knockout. Despite his initial hopes of fighting McGregor, Chandler disclosed that he has been offered a match against Max Holloway at UFC 303.

In an interview with the media backstage, Chandler conveyed his admiration for Holloway and his eagerness to step into the Octagon with him. He acknowledged the ongoing discussions regarding his own BMF credentials and expressed his interest in facing Holloway in the future.

Currently, Holloway is set to compete in a featherweight title bout against Ilia Topuria at UFC 307 in October. The anticipation now is whether fans would be excited to see Chandler and Holloway square off in a future showdown.
