It looks like the next rival for boxing sensation Canelo Alvarez could be Edgar Berlanga from Puerto Rico or Chris Eubank Junior from the UK. Unfortunately, David Benavidez is not being considered for the fight.
However, many fans are not too thrilled about the potential match-ups. Eubank Jr. has acknowledged that he typically fights as a middleweight and would have to move up to 168 to take on Canelo, even though he hasn’t really earned a shot at the title. On the other hand, Berlanga, younger and with a more powerful punch than Eubank, believes he deserves a chance to face Canelo, pointing to his impressive record of 22 wins with 17 knockouts.
While Berlanga might seem like a more interesting challenger to some, neither he nor Eubank Jr. have fully convinced fans that they are the ideal opponents for Canelo. Berlanga, however, remains confident in his skills and is adamant that he has what it takes to defeat Canelo.
