Francis Ngannou, a former UFC heavyweight champion, is gearing up for his return to mixed martial arts on October 19. He is set to make his debut in the PFL against Brazilian fighter Renan Ferreira.

Ngannou’s last MMA fight was at the start of 2022 when he unified his divisional title. Since then, he took on professional boxing matches against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, resulting in losses.

Having defeated Ryan Bader in February, Ferreira is lined up as Ngannou’s next opponent in the SmartCage. Ngannou revealed his excitement for the potential matchup with Ferreira during an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience.

Although the exact fight date is not yet confirmed, reports suggest it will take place on October 19. Ngannou, who resumed training five weeks ago, is preparing for the upcoming bout after the tragic loss of his son earlier this year, according to PFL president Ray Sefo.

Before his victory against Gane, Ngannou had an impressive six-fight winning streak, establishing himself as the UFC heavyweight champion by defeating prominent opponents. Fans are eagerly anticipating the showdown between Ngannou and Ferreira in the upcoming PFL event.
