Prior to Kamille’s entrance, Britt Baker overcame a challenge from former Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida, winning by submission after a 10-minute match. As Baker celebrated her victory, Mercedes Mone’s entrance hinted at a potential TBS Championship match between them, but it quickly turned into an ambush by the new AEW debutant.
Britt Baker’s return since September 2023 at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door in June marked a confrontation with Mercedes Mone after Mone claimed the NJPW Strong Women’s Champion title while retaining her TBS Championship.
