Meiko Satomura has made a return to a WWE ring for the first time since March 2023. Her latest performance was at an international WWE live event in Osaka, Japan. However, there are now reports indicating that this match might be part of her retirement tour as she gets ready to retire soon.
Reports from Tokyo Sports suggest that Satomura is planning to retire from professional wrestling in 2025. While an official date for her last match is yet to be confirmed, it is speculated that the spring season, coinciding with her 30-year in-ring anniversary in April, is a potential timeframe for her retirement.
Satomura, the co-founder of Sendai Girls’ Pro Wrestling, began her pro wrestling career in an impressive manner by defeating Sonoko Kato at a Gaea Japan event in April 1995. She went on to win the inaugural AAAW Tag Team Champions title with Kato the following year. In 2020, Satomura signed a player-coach deal with WWE, allowing her to perform in-ring and coach for the “NXT UK” brand. Throughout her time in WWE and “NXT UK,” she has had remarkable matches and victories.
