With WWE SummerSlam 2024 on the horizon, local wrestling promotions like Absolute Intense Wrestling (AIW) are capitalizing on the excitement in Cleveland. AIW recently held their “Against The World” event, featuring notable wrestlers like KENTA, Heath Slater, and potential future WWE stars The Motor City Machine Guns. Attendees were pleasantly surprised by the appearance of WWE Tag Team Champions Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa.
Johnny Gargano shared his enthusiasm about returning to his hometown and introduced Tommaso Ciampa to the enthusiastic audience. The duo received a warm reception from the fans in attendance.
It’s worth noting that Gargano has a history with AIW, having held the AIW Intense Championship twice and the AIW Absolute Championship once before joining WWE in 2016. Ciampa also made a brief appearance with AIW in 2015 and was excited to make a special guest appearance at the event.
While not officially on the SummerSlam card, #DIY will be defending their WWE Tag Team Championship against The Bloodline on WWE SmackDown prior to the event.
