Muhammad Mokaev is unlikely to be recruited by the PFL, as stated by President Ray Sefo. Despite Mokaev’s impressive track record, the organization is not keen on bringing him on board due to his reputation for being challenging to work with. This revelation follows Mokaev’s departure from the UFC after triumphing at UFC 304.
Mokaev, who recently turned 24, gained recognition in the UFC’s flyweight category, which is not currently part of the PFL’s division. Despite his accomplishments in the UFC, his conduct beyond the fighting arena contributed to his exit from the promotion.
While both the PFL and UFC have moved away from dealing with Mokaev, potential alternatives for the skilled fighter could involve organizations based in Asia like RIZIN and ONE Championship, as well as the European promotion OKTAGON. BKFC, a promotion renowned for attracting MMA talent, may not be an ideal match for Mokaev due to his emphasis on grappling.
Nevertheless, despite facing obstacles, Mokaev remains resolute in his pursuit of realizing his dream of becoming a UFC Champion and has recently issued an apology in the hopes of earning a second chance.
