Israel Adesanya, a former champion in the sport of UFC middleweight, displayed his dancing skills during the “Welcome to Country” ceremony at UFC 305, resembling the moving Kali statue in The Golden Voyage of Sinbad, in a tribute to the renowned animator Ray Harryhausen. Adesanya is set to compete against Dricus Du Plessis for the 185-pound title at the upcoming UFC 305 pay-per-view event on Saturday night at the RAC Center in Perth, Western Australia. Local fighters Steve Erceg and Tai Tuivasa were also part of the ceremony with Adesanya. The ceremony, as described by the University of New South Wales (UNSW), is a customary Aboriginal practice led by a local Elder to acknowledge and grant approval for activities occurring on their traditional lands, tracing back to times before colonization.
