Tim Tszyu is set to take on IBF 154-pound champion Bakhram Murtazaliev in a headline fight on October 19th in Orlando, Florida as part of a Premier Boxing Champions event. The negotiations between the two fighters have made considerable progress, with sources confirming the tentative fight date and location, although a final deal is yet to be sealed.
If the Murtazaliev vs. Tszyu bout proceeds as planned, it will mark the main event of the first standalone PBC on Prime Video show. This series, previously only available on pay-per-view, will debut on Prime Video with this fight. Tszyu, coming off a loss of his WBO title to Sebastian Fundora, is eager to earn another title shot and had a scheduled eliminator with Erickson Lubin before Lubin’s withdrawal due to injury.
Meanwhile, Murtazaliev, the current IBF title-holder, is looking to defend his belt after claiming it in April. The Russian boxer has been waiting for his opportunity to defend the title and is now ready to showcase his skills on a televised stage. Tszyu, after his previous title loss, is gearing up for a comeback fight on the East Coast in the U.S.
