The feud between Will Ospreay and Maxwell Jacob Friedman has escalated in both personal and physical terms leading up to their match for the American Championship at AEW All In. Ospreay recently expressed his strong disapproval for the current AEW American Champion during an appearance on “Close Up With Renee Paquette.”

Ospreay mentioned that even his most disliked opponents like Kenny Omega can still earn some respect from him. However, when it comes to MJF, that respect is completely absent.
“Max has crossed the line by making hurtful comments, including references to my recent personal loss. His actions to gain cheap applause by involving personal tragedies do not sit well with me,” Ospreay explained. “I’ve never been a fan of him as a professional wrestler. I believe his success came from playing politics rather than true talent. Despite the absence of certain influences, he continues to be favored, and someone needs to rectify that.”

The upcoming American Championship showdown between Ospreay and MJF follows MJF’s victory over Ospreay for the AEW International Championship on the landmark 250th episode of “AEW Dynamite.” MJF later rebranded the International Championship to the American Championship and defended it in various locations while also becoming a thorn in the side of Ospreay and even AEW President Tony Khan.
