Diego Pacheco, the up-and-coming super middleweight talent, is preparing for his upcoming fight against Maciej Sulecki in Los Angeles this weekend with the aim of moving closer to a title shot. Pacheco stated his belief confidently, saying, “If I can do that, it hopefully gets me a fight with someone that’s in the top ten with me, and then become mandatory for one of the titles and next year, get that world title shot.” He stressed that his primary focus is on securing the victory and delivering a strong performance rather than proving anything specific.
Despite not having fought Sulecki yet, Pacheco daringly mentioned future potential opponents he would like to challenge, such as Mbilli, Berlanga, and Bazinyan. He acknowledged the obstacles in arranging those fights but expressed trust in his promoter, Eddie Hearn, to make them a reality in the future.
Pacheco has his sights set on dominating the super middleweight division, particularly with the possibility of Canelo Alvarez exiting the sport in the near future. He envisions himself reigning over the division in five years, consolidating the titles, and achieving undisputed status. Pacheco’s ultimate aspiration is to provide exciting fights for the fans while maintaining his momentum in the ring.
Prior to achieving his ambitious targets, Pacheco must concentrate on his upcoming clash against Sulecki at the Dignity Health Sports Park, which will be live-streamed on DAZN. Despite the increasing attention he is receiving, Pacheco acknowledges the unpredictable nature of boxing and remains dedicated to his current challenge.
