The World Boxing Organization has ordered a showdown between junior middleweight champion Sebastian Fundora and the legendary Terence Crawford for Fundora’s title. In an official announcement made recently, the Organization stated that the two parties have a month to come to an agreement for the WBO Jr. Middleweight Mandatory Championship Contest. If no agreement is reached within the given time frame, a purse bid will be set as per WBO Regulations of World Championship Contests. This sets the stage for a major title fight endorsed by the WBO.

Fundora claimed his title after a tough win over Tim Tszyu last March. Known as “The Towering Inferno” due to his near six and a half-foot stature, Fundora holds a record of 21-1-1, with his lone defeat coming from Brian Mendoza in 2023. In contrast, Crawford, a well-respected fighter, boasts world titles in multiple weight classes and an unblemished record of 41-0. Even at 36 years old, Crawford’s expertise and tactical approach make him a formidable challenger.

A potential clash between Fundora and Crawford is expected to be an intriguing encounter. While Fundora may not match Crawford in skill level, his height and young age could pose interesting obstacles. Crawford’s strategic acumen and patience have been pivotal in his previous wins. The prospect of observing Crawford’s tactical brilliance against Fundora’s youthful determination sets the stage for an eagerly awaited battle that fans are likely to be thrilled about.
