Saudi businessman Turki Alalshikh, who is well-known in the boxing industry, is introducing a new tactic to fight against piracy in sports broadcasting. The strategy involves lowering the price of pay-per-view (PPV) events to a more affordable $20 to tackle the problem of revenue loss due to piracy.

CEO of UFC, Dana White, has stressed the significance of combatting piracy and mentioned that they take strict actions against perpetrators. White highlighted their past prosecutions of individuals involved in piracy to show their dedication to addressing the issue.

UFC is known for its tough stance against piracy, with White cautioning potential illegal streamers about facing consequences for their actions. The standard cost of UFC PPV events is $79.99 and requires an ESPN+ subscription, which may have led to a rise in unauthorized streams. Similarly, other platforms like Triller have also encountered difficulties with pirated streams.

The discussion also touches upon the high prices of tickets for live events, suggesting that an $80 PPV charge could be viewed as reasonable in comparison.
