WWE puts a lot of effort into the showmanship side of “sports entertainment.” The lighting and pyrotechnics in WWE are always designed to be extravagant.

In a recent video on X (formerly Twitter), WWE revealed the elaborate setup behind the pyrotechnics used for Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. The fireworks are triggered by a specific controller labeled “Cody,” operated by a lead pyrotechnician using a controller similar to a video game console. These pyrotechnics have become a bold and impactful part of Rhodes’s WWE entrance.

The video was promoting the move of “WWE SmackDown” from Fox to The USA Network. Fox had been the home of the blue brand since 2019, and it is now returning to USA while other WWE television rights are changing for the next six months. Additionally, “WWE NXT” will be moving to The CW on October 1, with the initial episodes not at the WWE Performance Center but instead in Rosemont, IL and St. Louis, MO. “Raw” and “SmackDown” will continue airing on USA until the end of the year, with “Raw” transitioning to Netflix in the future as part of WWE’s extended agreement with the network.
