After initially accepting his defeat to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306, Sean O’Malley now believes he was unfairly judged after reviewing the fight. Taking to Twitter, O’Malley argued that he should have been declared the winner by claiming victory in the first, third, and fifth rounds. He expressed his interest in a rematch with Dvalishvili and his plan to defend his title against Umar Nurmagomedov next summer, despite needing surgery for a hip issue. O’Malley criticized his opponent and declared himself the rightful champion, firmly asserting his belief that he emerged victorious in the bout. This is not the first time O’Malley has questioned a loss, as he previously disputed his loss to Chito Vera in 2020.
