Natalya, a second-generation veteran, was dissuaded by her father, WWE Hall of Famer Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, from pursuing a career in professional wrestling. She revealed this on “Growing Up Von Erich.”

“My dad wasn’t keen on us becoming wrestlers,” Natalya shared. Despite the scarce presence of female wrestlers in the ’80s, Natalya felt compelled to venture into wrestling after seeing the success of female stars like Trish Stratus and Lita.

Natalya’s grandfather, Stu Hart, also had concerns about women participating in wrestling, being traditional and opposed to female family members being part of the sport.
