Jake Paul has suggested a term to Dana White amid their ongoing disagreement about fighter compensation in the UFC. During his podcast, Paul mentioned that he would refrain from discussing the matter if White raised the minimum fighter payment from $12,500 to $50,000. He stated that this change would particularly help lesser-known fighters who find it challenging to sustain themselves under the current payment system. Paul highlighted that this adjustment would only require an additional $20 million per year from the UFC, a relatively modest sum compared to their total earnings. He also accused White of evading the actual problem of fighter remuneration by resorting to personal attacks against him. Paul believes he is among the few in the combat sports realm who dares to confront White on this issue.

Despite Paul’s position, MMA veteran Josh Barnett opposes his suggestion, asserting that the minimum pay in the UFC is not the main concern. Barnett argues that the real issue lies in the terms and clauses of contracts, as well as the compensations and incentives for lower and mid-level fighters who often end up costing the UFC more than they generate.
