Following much speculation about their future, The Lucha Brothers are reportedly heading to WWE.

Reports earlier in the year suggested that Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix were set to depart All Elite Wrestling after five years and join WWE. According toCory Hays of PWNexus, the duo has signed a multi-year deal with WWE, although specific terms have yet to be disclosed. Notably, Hays mentioned that The Lucha Brothers will bypass “WWE NXT” and move directly to the main roster.

Another interesting aspect of the agreement was highlighted by Ibou of WrestlePurists. He revealed that AEW President Tony Khan had the option to extend Fenix’s contract due to his injury history while with AEW. However, Khan decided to honor Fenix’s wish to leave alongside his brother, considering Fenix’s dedication and work ethic in AEW.

Leaving AEW with multiple title reigns, including AEW and ROH Tag Team Championships and the AEW World Trios Championships, Penta and Fenix also experienced individual success. Fenix notably captured the AEW International Championship from Jon Moxley, albeit under contentious circumstances, in 2023.
