Welcome to Midnight Mania!

Igor Severino, a former UFC Flyweight who was fined $2000 and suspended for nine months, is gearing up for his return to the ring in late 2025. His first fight in Oktagon will be against experienced Bantamweight Jonas Magard, who holds a 17-6 record. The matchup is set for the Oktagon 65 event at the O2 Arena in Prague, Czech Republic, on December 29, 2024.

This comeback is scheduled just six days after the end of Severino’s suspension.

In March 2024, Severino found himself in a gripping bout with rising star Andre Lima. However, during the fight, Severino bit his opponent in the second round, putting his UFC career at risk. Despite Lima’s plea for leniency, Severino was expelled from the UFC and received a lifetime ban. Nevertheless, a video released by the promotion shows Severino excitedly discussing his upcoming fight, which will be his first appearance in the 135-pound division.

Severino stated, “I will debut in OKTAGON MMA against Jonas Magard. I’m really looking forward to this fight, and I can’t wait to showcase my skills. Jonas, I’ll see you soon; I’m ready. Let’s go on December 29th!”

Is this the beginning of Severino’s path to redemption? While facing challenges in rebuilding his reputation, past examples in the UFC suggest that forgiveness is possible, providing Severino with opportunities to mend his career.
