Shavkat Rakhmonov is sure he will not lose to Ian Machado Garry at UFC 310.

This Saturday night, Rakhmonov and Garry will compete at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, in a significant welterweight division matchup. Although Rakhmonov missed the chance for a title fight with Belal Muhammad at the end-of-year UFC event, he knows the importance of focusing on Garry to stay on track towards the 170-pound championship.

Upon hearing Garry’s prediction of a stopping victory, Rakhmonov swiftly responded.

During a media day before UFC 310, Rakhmonov shared his views on Garry’s claim of finishing him (courtesy of MMAJunkie.com).

“I don’t believe that’s how it’s going to go down; I think he’s out of touch with reality,” Rakhmonov said through an interpreter. “My plan is to defeat him and achieve my objectives.”

Nevertheless, Rakhmonov recognized Garry’s impressive record and Octagon skills.

“He’s undefeated and has beaten notable fighters like Geoff Neal and Michael ‘Venum’ Page. But if he is indeed the toughest test of my career, that will show in the fight. It’s hard to say right now,” Rakhmonov remarked.

The UFC 310 main event highlights a flyweight championship battle. Champion Alexandre Pantoja will defend against former RIZIN star Kai Asakura, making his UFC debut. Typically, debut fighters in title bouts face tough odds, and it’s uncertain if Asakura can make a successful start by winning the championship.
