The co-main event of UFC 310 on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas will showcase an exciting welterweight clash between two undefeated contenders. Third-ranked Shavkat Rakhmonov (18-0) is set to take on seventh-ranked Ian Machado Garry (14-0). As the saying goes, “someone’s 0 has got to go.”

Renowned trainer Firas Zahabi recently shared his insights regarding this matchup and provided his prediction for the highly anticipated welterweight showdown.

“I’m super pumped for this fight. Why? Two undefeated major prospects, major prospects going at it,” Zahabi expressed on the TriStar Gym YouTube channel.

Rakhmonov has a remarkable record of finishing every opponent he has faced over his decade-long professional career, having only ventured into the third round twice. According to Zahabi, much of Rakhmonov’s success can be attributed to his ‘relentless pressure.’

“What’s so special about Rakhmonov? I’ll tell you. After watching his fights, it’s kind of obvious. He has a relentless pressure. The man is an animal,” Zahabi remarked. “He has an incredible robustness and resilience.”

Zahabi further stated, “His relentless pressure I feel is going to be way too much for Machado Garry. For Ian Garry to win this fight, I think he’d have to stay on the outside for quite a long time, pick and poke, stick and move, and we saw that even ‘Wonderboy’ (Stephen Thompson) wasn’t able to do that against Shavkat.”

In his bold prediction, Zahabi concluded, “I think he’s going to submit Ian Garry. If he can do that to Geoff Neal and Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson, two elite strikers who are not easy to finish, I think he’s going to run down, chop down, and wrestle down Ian Garry eventually.”
