The world’s largest martial arts organization will return to Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, with a huge doubleheader on Friday, December 6, kicking off in Asia primetime with another round of action from the hottest weekly series in combat sports.
Before ONE Fight Night 26: Lee vs. Rasulov on Prime Video goes down in U.S. primetime, ONE Friday Fights 90 will warm things up with a plethora of rising stars competing across Muay Thai and MMA as they aim to secure a US$100,000 contract.
At the top of the bill, Thai fan favorite Kongklai Sor Sommai returns to meet human highlight reel Antar Kacem in a 142-pound catchweight Muay Thai tilt.
Kongklai has developed a reputation for fighting with his heart on his sleeve, no matter the outcome. In addition, all three of his ONE victories have come by knockout.
The Thai striker silenced his critics after a string of defeats by knocking out Deniz Demirkapu at ONE Friday Fights 80 in September, and he’ll be looking to add Kacem to his list. But that’s easier said than done against the iron-willed Belarusian.
For his part, Kacem is also no stranger to biting down on his mouthpiece and letting loose. The 25-year-old has beaten top names, including Yodphupha Petkiatpet, Rafi Bohic, and Worapon Sor Dechapan, and he’d love to put back-to-back wins together by adding Kongklai to his resume.
The penultimate fight will see Road to ONE: Thailand winner Dedduanglek Wankhongohm MBK clash with unbeaten knockout artist Asadula Imangazaliev in flyweight Muay Thai action.
Dedduanglek had a tough night in the office last time around when he lost a decision to current #4-ranked contender Nakrob Fairtex, but the relentless youngster has no time to wallow as he looks to put the first blemish on his next opponent’s record.
The 6-0 Imangazaliev has secured two brutal knockouts in as many appearances at ONE Friday Fights, showcasing his impressive striking in both victories. A third consecutive finish would turn the heads of the division’s upper echelon and further establish him as one to watch.
In another featured bout, hard-hitting Italian Alessio Malatesta will collide with pugnacious Portuguese striker Fabio Reis in a 147-pound catchweight Muay Thai affair.
Malatesta earned the first victory of his promotional tenure last time around when he scored a first-round knockout over Wilachon PK Saenchai in a slugfest for the ages. He’ll look to capitalize on that momentum in his return, but Reis will have other plans.
The fierce knockout artist most recently slayed Pakorn PK Saenchai, and he knows that bringing the brawling Malatesta down a peg would help him see out 2024 in style.
There will also be a sole MMA bout on the lineup between staunch finishers, as Valmir Galiev locks up with Avazbek Kholmirzaev in flyweight action.
