There’s a new knockout artist in town and his name is Gustavo Trujillo.
The 31-year-old Cuban fighter has been on an absolute tear since transitioning to bareknuckle boxing back in 2019. Trujillo initially started out as a mixed martial artist, but his striking skills were always going to be better suited for the boxing ring. “The Cuban Assassin” has taken the bareknuckle world by storm over the past few years and has shown no signs of slowing up.
On Friday, Trujillo pushed his undefeated bareknuckle boxing record to 7-0. All of those wins have come by way of smashing first-round knockout. This includes Trujillo’s matchup this weekend against Richie Leak at BYB 34 in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Trujillo was pegged as the main event marquee and did not disappoint in his return to the ring.
Trujillo scored a massive knockdown early in the first round before changing levels and attacking the body of Leak. The English veteran was not mobile enough to stay out of trouble and it cost him. Trujillo moved inside in the ring corner and unleashed a perfectly-placed left hook to the body. Leak crumbled to the canvas and told the referee he couldn’t continue as the 10-count unfolded.
