Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury are getting ready for their big rematch in just two weeks. The fight’s got everyone talking because it’s a chance for Fury to get back at Usyk for beating him before.
These two first fought in May. It was a big deal because no one had held all the heavyweight titles since Lennox Lewis back in 1999. Usyk won that fight on points, but it was close. Both guys showed off their skills with fancy footwork and slick defense. The biggest moment came in round 9 when Usyk hit Fury so hard he ended up on the ropes and the ref had to count.
Now Usyk’s given up his IBF belt to make this rematch happen. Recent pictures show he’s in great shape. Fury’s looking to win back those titles and erase that loss from his record. He’s known for changing how he looks depending on his game plan, so we’ll have to wait and see what shape he shows up in.
Manny Pacquiao, who used to be a champion in lots of different weight classes, talked about the fight when he was in Dubai recently. He told the media:
“Good fight. Even match. Whoever does the extra miles in their training is the one who will be winning.”
Pacquiao knows a thing or two about rematches. He’s had to fight Juan Manuel Marquez and Timothy Bradley more than once in his career. You can watch his full interview about the Usyk-Fury rematch online.
Pacquiao hasn’t been in the ring since he lost to Yordenis Ugás. But he’s been talking about making a comeback for a while now. Maybe watching Usyk and Fury go at it again will give him that final push to lace up the gloves one more time.
