Kasim Ruffin is determined to finish 2024 on a high note.
He will face Bryan Duran, ranked as the No. 2 contender in the BKFC featherweight division, at BKFC on DAZN: Hollywood. The event will be broadcast live worldwide on January 21 from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL, via DAZN.
This marks Duran’s first fight since his five-round showdown with Kai Stewart for the BKFC World Featherweight Championship at BKFC 62 in June. Duran aims to demonstrate he still deserves his spot at the top of the BKFC’s highly competitive 145-pound weight class. Ruffin understands that a victory in Hollywood could propel him into the division’s Top 5 rankings.
“This is a huge opportunity,” Ruffin states.
“Beating him will earn me a world ranking, which is a significant step toward reaching my goals in BKFC. It’s just one step, but I’m genuinely excited about this opportunity.”
Ruffin is prepared to make the most of his chance and aims to improve his record to 3-0 at the final BKFC event of the year.
“In the first two rounds, you’ll see me landing a lot of jabs on him. You’ll also see him trying to chase me down and knock me out,” Ruffin describes.
“We’re going to have some intense exchanges, but by the third round, he’ll start to tire, and I’ll be ready to walk him down for the knockout.”
