The final UFC event of 2024 has concluded, and we’re now looking ahead to 2025. According to UFC CEO Dana White, there are some exciting developments on the horizon.
Following UFC Tampa, White shared his thoughts with the press about the promotion’s plans for next year. These plans reportedly include more events in Brazil and a return to cities that the UFC hasn’t visited in quite some time. After a year filled with numerous Apex events, this change of scenery will be refreshing.
“Every year over the last 17 years, I’ve said, ‘How is next year gonna be bigger than this year?’” White commented. “And some of the stuff that we’re already working on is … on multiple levels, not just UFC. We got Power Slap meetings going on down there. SLS [Skate League], which I own a piece of, did an event down there today, and UFC stuff is being worked on right now in Brazil.”
Additionally, White mentioned the potential expansion into Europe, stating, “We’re talking about Spain and all these other places, not to mention Seattle and Chicago and these other places that we haven’t been in a long time.”
However, some fans express frustration when White intertwines his other ventures with UFC news. As we move into 2025, many hope it will not be overshadowed by Power Slap, SLS, Nitro Circus, or other extreme sport offshoots. Thankfully, White did offer some intriguing fight news that has the potential to excite fans.
“I anticipate a lot of big fights,” he shared with a grin. “I’ve got something in the works right now, it’ll drive you f—ers crazy. All you guys will be running around. I got something in the works that you will never f—ing see coming for 2025 that literally started to come together last night.”
“Yeah. We we we got some fun stuff coming up,” he added, keeping the excitement high.
What could this mysterious, monumental fight entail? Given recent trends, it’s a bit concerning because it might involve a YouTube influencer rather than the sport’s top fighters. Nevertheless, our curiosity is piqued.
Will 2025 see Dana White’s announcements finally meet the hype? After the high expectations for UFC 300 and UFC 306, it would certainly be a surprise if things unfold as promised.
