Eddy Thorpe shoved Shawn Michaels following the conclusion of the December 17 episode of WWE NXT.
Thorpe challenged Trick Williams for the NXT Championship on Tuesday’s show. They battled back and forth, and Thorpe nearly scored the win. However, Williams hit the Trick Shot and seemingly scored the win. The match then ended without a clear winner, as both competitors’ shoulders were counted down. As NXT came to an end, it was uncertain who held the NXT Championship.
In a digital exclusive, NXT General Manager Ava declared that Williams was still the NXT Champion. This angered Thorpe, who got in her face. He also argued with Shawn Michaels and shoved him. Officials then escorted Thorpe to the back after Williams dropped him with a kick.
Michaels previously got physical with Thorpe backstage after the latter accidentally knocked Ava down.
As of this writing, Trick Williams is slated to defend the NXT Championship against Oba Femi at NXT New Year’s Evil.
