Oleksandr Usyk is predicted to defeat Tyson Fury in their December 21st rematch, according to former cruiserweight world champion Tony Bellew. The two heavyweights are set to meet again following Usyk’s victory in May.

Bellew, who has had his own encounter with Usyk in the ring, shared his insights about the upcoming fight in an interview with FighLens.

“I’ve said before and I’ll say it again, I just can’t see past Oleksandr Usyk. I think the guy is an absolute machine,” Bellew stated.

Despite acknowledging Fury’s significant physical advantages, Bellew still favors Usyk in the matchup.

“Don’t get me wrong, at Tyson Fury’s size and weight, he shouldn’t lose. Honestly, with those advantages, you shouldn’t lose. But if anyone was going to beat him, it was Oleksandr Usyk,” he added.

Usyk, the former undisputed cruiserweight champion, has dominated the heavyweight division, claiming all the belts. He is even contemplating a return to cruiserweight to reclaim his undisputed crown in that division.

Bellew knows firsthand the toughness Usyk brings, having been knocked out by the Ukrainian in the eighth round of their cruiserweight bout. Bellew initially started strong but was worn down by Usyk’s relentless pressure.

In their first encounter, Fury found himself in trouble during the ninth round after absorbing some clean shots. The referee chose not to stop the fight, a decision that Bellew believes was crucial for Fury.

“Fortunate is an understatement. He literally saved his bacon in that round, saved his backside, he really did. We’ll get all the answers on December 21st. Is Oleksandr Usyk going to cap off an unbelievable career and walk off into the sunset, or is he going to falter and lose that winning streak?” Bellew questioned.

If Fury, known as “The Gypsy King,” emerges victorious, a trilogy fight with Usyk might be on the horizon. However, according to Bellew’s prediction, such a scenario may not unfold.

The rematch on December 21st will ultimately decide the outcome between these two heavyweight titans. Will Usyk vindicate Bellew’s prediction, or will Fury leverage his physical advantages to even the series? The answers will soon be revealed.
