Oleksandr Usyk is predicted by boxing legend Evander Holyfield to outpoint Tyson Fury in their upcoming rematch. Holyfield, a former heavyweight champion, also believes Usyk has the potential to knock out Fury if he manages to land consistent shots.

Holyfield and Usyk have both accomplished a unique feat in boxing history, being the only fighters to become undisputed champions at both the cruiserweight and heavyweight levels. Usyk mirrored Holyfield’s path by winning all four belts at cruiserweight before stepping up to the heavyweight division.

In the heavyweight category, Usyk claimed the WBA, WBO, and IBF titles by defeating Anthony Joshua twice. He further secured the WBC belt by defeating Fury in their initial encounter, which ended in a split decision.

Holyfield shared with The Ring Magazine a conversation he had with Usyk several years ago. Usyk had expressed his determination to mimic Holyfield’s achievements by stating, “I’m going to do exactly the same thing you did by becoming undisputed cruiserweight and go to heavyweight and become the champion there.” Holyfield responded with encouragement, and Usyk ultimately realized his ambition.

Looking forward to the rematch, Holyfield anticipates both fighters will make minor adjustments. He describes Usyk as a fighter who throws numerous punches, possesses quick hands and reflexes, and is willing to take some hits to deliver his own. Holyfield admires Usyk’s dedication to hard work, a trait he sees in himself, and believes Usyk’s work ethic will be crucial to his strategy.

While Holyfield predicts Usyk will outpoint Fury, he does not discount the possibility of a knockout. He notes that if Usyk lands consistent shots, there is a chance of knocking Fury out, though he acknowledges Fury’s advantages in height and reach which make him a challenging opponent to hit.

Holyfield also commented on the controversy surrounding the first fight. He refrains from being controversial himself and emphasizes his respect for both fighters. Holyfield appreciates the skills of both Usyk and Fury but has a personal preference for Usyk and believes he will ultimately outpoint Fury.

The eagerly anticipated rematch between Usyk and Fury is scheduled for Saturday, December 21, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The matchup will see the WBC, WBA, and WBO world heavyweight titles on the line, promising an exciting showdown between the two highly skilled fighters.
