MMA Junkie has just concluded another action-packed month and is highlighting the best knockouts from December 2024. This list includes the top five nominees for our Knockout of the Month award, noted in chronological order, and we invite you to participate by selecting your favorite.

Our first nominee is Bryce Mitchell, who, after a challenging end to 2023, delivered a stunning highlight on the final UFC pay-per-view of 2024. In a heavily anticipated featherweight bout against Kron Gracie, which was expected to feature extensive grappling, Mitchell executed a powerful slam and followed it with devastating elbows, knocking Gracie out and earning a TKO victory.

Next up is Joel Alvarez, whose fight against Drakkar Klose at UFC on ESPN 63 demonstrated his knack for finishes. Alvarez rocked Klose with a punch and then executed a flying knee, leaving Klose incapacitated. As Klose began to fall, Alvarez attempted a guillotine, but the bout was already over, with the referee intervening.

Dustin Jacoby earned his nomination during his clash against Vitor Petrino, where audience boredom quickly turned to shock. As calls for a strong finish rang out, Jacoby delivered a massive straight right, instantly knocking out Petrino and silencing any complaints.

Cub Swanson rounds out our nominees, securing a highlight-worthy victory in what might be his final MMA appearance against Billy Quarantillo. After a thrilling featherweight match, Swanson landed a knockout punch early in the third round, potentially marking a remarkable end to his storied career.

The winner of the Knockout of the Month is Michael Johnson, who left a significant impact against Ottman Azaitar at UFC on ESPN 63. Johnson, with a jaw-dropping overhand right, knocked Azaitar out cold. Two additional right hands struck Azaitar before the referee stopped the fight, completing a memorable victory for Johnson.
