The world’s largest martial arts organization continues to add elite talent to its roster of top-flight submission grapplers.

The latest world-class ground fighter to join ONE Championship is two-time ADCC World Champion Giancarlo Bodoni.

Renowned for his almost unmatched technical prowess, impeccable fight IQ, and all-around submission hunting skills, the 29-year-old has spent the past several years cementing himself as a true pound-for-pound powerhouse.

After enjoying a successful brown belt campaign that saw him win gold at the IBJJF Pan-American and No-Gi World Championships, Bodoni received his BJJ black belt in 2020 from legendary competitor Lucas Lepri.

Since then, the American standout has shown steady improvements on his way to becoming a force on the world-class no-gi competition scene.

Bodoni’s breakout year came in 2022 when he won his first ADCC World Championship in the talent-laden 88-kilogram division – the same division that included current ONE Welterweight Submission Grappling World Champion Tye Ruotolo.

Two years later, he would win the prestigious tournament again to solidify himself as one of the sport’s most dominant active competitors.

Now training under famed coach and technical mastermind John Danaher, Bodoni boasts countless notable victories, including submission wins over multiple-time IBJJF World Champions Lucas “Hulk” Barbosa and Gabriel Arges, as well as fellow ADCC World Champion Matheus Diniz.

Fans who are unfamiliar with Bodoni are in for a treat when he makes his global debut.

The talented Florida native can attack from practically any position, whether he’s employing his methodical and precise guard passing from the top position, hunting for leg locks from his guard, or chasing his opponent’s back during scrambles.

Simply put, Bodoni has all the skills needed to make an instant impact in ONE Championship.
