“Platinum” wants “Ruthless.”
The final Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) event took place last night (Sat., Dec. 21, 2024) at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, featuring several first-round finishes.
During the broadcast, BKFC superstar Mike Perry took the microphone and called out former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight champion Robbie Lawler.
“I see Robbie Lawler in the crowd,” Perry stated. “I think he should take the gloves off, and he should step inside the squared circle against ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry.”
There is no doubt that Lawler and BKFC would create a match made in violent heaven, but at 42 years old, he has endured a lifetime of damage.
Perry and Lawler were scheduled to face off in 2020 during UFC 255; however, “Ruthless” withdrew due to injury. The fight was never rebooked as Perry exited the promotion, while Lawler competed three more times before enjoying a picture-perfect retirement.
MMAMania.com can confirm that BKFC showed interest in signing Lawler for a matchup with Perry, but the details of negotiations remain unclear.
Perry, 33, only fought once in 2024 under the BKFC banner, stopping Thiago Alves in just a minute at BKFC: Knuckle Mania 4. This limited activity was largely due to his involvement in boxing Jake Paul.
