KSI is entering the fray in the ongoing saga between Conor McGregor and Logan Paul.
Recently, McGregor has been making headlines by suggesting that he is in discussions to box Paul in a match that would be backed by India’s billionaire Ambani family and hosted in Mumbai. While neither the Ambani family nor Paul has publicly addressed these rumors, speculation about the fight’s feasibility and the substantial payday McGregor might receive has continued.
As Paul shifts his focus to his WWE Superstar career, his friend, business partner, and former boxing rival KSI has taken the initiative to challenge McGregor directly.
In response to a fan-generated mock poster featuring him and McGregor, KSI declared, “Not rumored. I’m very down.”
McGregor later amplified KSI’s comments by retweeting them on his own Twitter account.
The two fighters share a history, having collaborated on promotional activities for the UFC 2 video game back in 2016, prior to KSI launching the influencer boxing trend with his match against Paul two years later. McGregor has previously taken jabs at KSI’s boxing skills, which can be seen in a compilation from Happy Punch.
During a promotional event for the Anthony Joshua vs. Robert Helenius boxing match in London in August 2023, McGregor quipped, “KSI is in the crowd and he couldn’t box eggs if he worked in an egg-boxing factory.”
KSI holds a professional boxing record of 4 wins and 1 loss (with 1 no contest). His most recent fight was in October 2023, where he faced Tommy Fury and suffered his first professional defeat by unanimous decision.
On the other hand, McGregor has also been sidelined from competition for a long stretch, having last fought at UFC 264 in July 2021. In a trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier, McGregor endured a severe leg injury that took him out of action. He had been scheduled to make his return this past June at UFC 303 against Michael Chandler but withdrew due to a toe injury.
