Devin Haney will work out in front of his British fans today in an open workout at 2:00 p.m. in London, England. He doesn’t have a fight scheduled.

Haney in London: Seeking UK Boost

It’s a weird move by Dev because he’s not fighting a British guy; he’s coming off an embarrassing loss, and his stock is low. He looks desperate to make this move, but it shows where he’s at career-wise.
It will look bad for Haney if few fans and media members show up to watch him work out. However, there will probably be a fair amount of British media that will show up so they can get an interview.

Some believe this move is to build Haney’s brand overseas in hopes of being chosen by Turki Al-Shiekh to fight on one of his Riyadh Season cards. By working out in London, the former two-division world champion Devin will gain visibility from the British press and potentially be noticed by Turki.
If he wants to add Devin to one of his cards, he could match him against a formidable opponent, like Richardson Hitchins, Liam Paro, or Jaron Ennis. It’s doubtful that Haney would agree to fight any of those guys because he wouldn’t want to place his rematch with Ryan Garcia at risk.

Haney’s A-List Status Lost

In the U.S., Haney’s stock has plummeted from the combination of his loss to Ryan Garcia and his decision to initiate a lawsuit and sit out of the ring for a year, not fighting. The way his career looks now, it’s not looking good for him.
He’s no longer one of the A-list fighters due to that loss, and his chances of returning to his former place of high status are slim. There isn’t a weak champion like the ones Haney beat to capture his two-division world titles.
