Tom Aspinall is eyeing a fight with Jon Jones after his knockout victory over Segay Pavlovich for the interim heavyweight title.

At UFC 295, Aspinall delivered a remarkable performance against Pavlovic, securing a knockout win in just over a minute of the opening round.

Both fighters stepped in on short notice after the original main event featuring Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic was postponed due to Jones’ injury.

Following his win, Jones commended Aspinall’s performance.

“Obviously it’s always nice to hear good things about you, but even more so from someone like that who I respect so much,” Aspinall expressed.

“Yes, thank you, John. Give me a chance, John. Let me do it. Give me the fight of my dreams. Why not? I have just achieved my dream. Give me the fight of my dreams.” Give. Let me fight now for my legacy.”

A matchup between Jones and Aspinall appears to be the next logical step, although it may be necessary to wait for Jones to recover from his injury and potentially face Miocic before Aspinall can contest against him.

Aspinall, however, is not looking to delay the fight for long.

No, I don’t want to wait a year. I definitely don’t want to wait a year.” Aspinall asserted. “Honestly, I think the fight between me and Jones is the fight. If I have to wait a year, I’ll do it. That’s the fight I really want. And with me and John in England… I think it’s just a dream for everyone. The UFC, the fans, everyone is going to love it.”
