Longtime junior welterweight fighter Steve Clagett is preparing to face Miguel Madueno, whom he previously defeated in his NABF title defense, on Tuesday at the Montreal Casino in Montreal.

The 34-year-old from Calgary is known for being an all-action fighter and is expected to have a good stylistic match with Madueno (30-1, 28 KOs), a rising talent from Mexico.

Clagett stated, “I think it’s a great fight. He’s a tough, tough guy and he packs a big punch. You can tell by his record that he’s a knockout puncher. He’s a rough guy. To be honest, I feel like I have experience because I’ve been through it. I’ve been in this game for a long time and I’m getting better every fight. I’m looking forward to showing my experience and what I’ve been working on.”

Clagett believes Madueno’s aggressiveness can be turned against him, saying, “He’s aggressive when he comes in, he throws a lot of punches, he’s busy. From my point of view, I think he’s reckless. I know he’s a strong guy, he comes in and pushes everyone around. His aggressiveness is one of his strengths.”

Regarding his own performance, Clagett expressed confidence in his advantage due to his experience fighting different opponents with different styles.

Clagett’s promoter, Camille Estefan of Eye of the Tiger, recognizes the risk of this fight but also sees it as an opportunity to push Clagett closer to a big chance in the future.

Madueño, who turned pro in early 2017 in Mexico, has showcased his power with wins over Sonny Fredrickson and Juan Huertas. His only loss was against former WBA 130-pound champion Jezreel Corrales.

The upcoming fight between Clagett and Madueno is expected to be even, with both fighters being active and involved in multiple matches. Clagett’s consistent participation and experience as a junior welterweight may give him an edge, although Madueno’s power poses an early threat. The fight will be aired on ESPN+ at 7pm ET/4pm PT and streamed live on punchinggrace.com.
