David Benavidez will face Demetrius Andrade on November 25th at Showtime PPV in Las Vegas. The pay-per-view telecast will start at 8pm ET/5pm PT. Andrade, a 2008 U.S. Olympian, will attempt to claim Benavidez’s interim WBC super middleweight title, enhancing his already impressive career.

Benavidez sees a win over former two-division world champion Andrade as a means to boost his popularity among fans and secure a title shot, potentially against Canelo Alvarez, the undisputed super middleweight champion.

Andrade, known for his southpaw stance, is expected to pose a tough challenge for Benavidez due to his abundant talent and prior rejection by top fighters between 154 and 168 weight classes.

Brothers Canelo and Charlo have not shown interest in facing Andrade, likely due to his smooth, powerful southpaw style with counter-punching abilities, which can trouble any opponent.

Benavidez candidly mentioned that the location for the fight is yet to be confirmed, but it will be either in Texas or Las Vegas.

He looked off-pace in his previous fight against Caleb Plant and admitted that Plant’s technical skills caused him trouble initially.

Benavidez expressed his desire for a challenging fight and acknowledged Andrade as a tough opponent, stating that defeating him would earn him more respect and confidence to face Canelo in the future.

He revealed that after negotiations for a fight with Mungia fell through, he and his team pursued Andrade as an opponent, ultimately arranging the upcoming match.

Andrade, in his statement, emphasized his readiness for the fight and his determination to emerge victorious, acknowledging the significance of the event and expressing confidence in his ability to exploit Benavidez’s weaknesses.

Jose Benavidez Jr. and Jermall Charlo also shared their thoughts, expressing excitement and competitive spirit for their upcoming match on November 25th.

Jose Benavidez Sr., the trainer and father of David and Jose Jr., expressed pride in his sons’ upcoming fights and stated his belief in their ability to secure victory.
