Former UFC heavyweight contender Ben Rothwell is considering a potential fight against former champion Francis Ngannou under the PFL (Professional Fighters League) banner. Rothwell stated that it would be “fun” to face Ngannou.

Rothwell, a former UFC heavyweight contender, left the promotion after a TKO loss to Marcos Rogelio de Lima in November 2021, marking his second consecutive loss.

Ngannou, a former UFC heavyweight champion, recently secured a heavyweight title unification victory over former interim champion Cyrille Gane at UFC 270 in January. Ngannou, who signed with the PFL after leaving the UFC earlier this year, is expected to make his debut with the organization in 2024.

Rothwell expressed his willingness to potentially fight Ngannou in the PFL, describing it as the kind of fight that any player in his position would want to take. He mentioned, “This is one of those legendary fights.”

He also acknowledged the challenges Ngannou is facing and his own enjoyment of competing in BKFC, stating, “…they’re already talking about a rematch between him (Francis Ngannou) and Tyson Fury, so he seems to have his hands full, but it would be fun to get back into something like that. But other than that I’m having a lot of fun at BKFC and there’s a lot to do here.”
