Welcome to Midnight Mania!

Conor McGregor’s life has been filled with turmoil and amidst that, he’s dealing with a nearly $30 million lawsuit. Artem Lobov, McGregor’s long-time friend and training partner, played a significant role in the $600 million sale of Proper 12 in April 2021, due to his involvement in the production of Proper 12 whiskey. He claims to have a handshake agreement for 5% of the profits made.

In November 2022, Lobov took legal action against his former teammates and has since lost at least one case, with a judge dismissing McGregor’s defamation lawsuit, allowing Lobov to be labeled a “rat” and a “raw sausage”. Furthermore, Lobov will have to cover McGregor’s legal fees for that case.

However, the legal battle is not over yet. The initial phase of the Proper 12 case is ongoing in the Irish court system, and Lobov has recently disclosed conversations between himself and McGregor that may soon be presented in court.

In one of the emails, Lobov praised McGregor’s performance, to which McGregor expressed gratitude for Lobov’s support and promised to take care of him in the fight and the whiskey deal. Lobov also mentioned his gratitude for the potential percentage promised by McGregor.

Are WhatsApp messages considered legally binding contracts? Ultimately, this will be for the Irish courts to decide. In any case, stay tuned for updates on the Proper 12 lawsuit.

If this were anyone other than Alexei Oleinik, I would write about how this arm triangle form is less than ideal. However, given his expertise, I believe that “Boa Constrictor” knows best how to apply pressure with his arms in this situation.
