“Hate it or love it, that’s the kind of guy I am,” welterweight champion Terrence Crawford said in a long Twitter thread Wednesday. “Every time a fighter opens his mouth, my name comes out of his mouth. So what does that tell you?” Crawford went on to address the various arguments made about and/or against him and claims. Since becoming the undisputed welterweight world champion late last summer, Crawford has still been under the spotlight from some on the internet and beyond. “I wish I could fight more than once a year,” he wrote. “But they’ve been running and hiding for years. Boxing isn’t what it used to be when everyone was fighting each other…I live in the gym. But throughout my career, these fighters were running behind people saying, I’m on the wrong side of the road, call this person that! Make it mean something.”

Crawford stated that he rose to the top through hard work and sacrifice. “I fought everyone and everyone at the table,” he said. “I’ve never turned down a fight in my life. I’m late to inform you, but I’ve gained weight. Short fighters, tall fighters, strong fighters, fast fighters, boxers, brawlers, etc., I fought them all.” And what about Errol Spence’s eye problem? “Last time I can remember,” Crawford said. Any boxer would know that. But casual fans will say and make up anything.”

The fighter, known as “Bud,” focused on potential competitors Jaron Ennis and Teofimo Lopez. “As I said before, @JaronEnnis He had a chance to fight me twice. We’re talking about kids who are still fighting in theaters. Make it meaningful,” he said. “and @Teofimo Lopez you should worry about the people who are losing in the ranks. It’s crazy every time I see you not looking at me, but I have so much to say in front of the camera. you’re a cat,” Crawford then threw another dig to Lopez. “Hey @Teofimolopez” Crawford wrote, “Well, we’re really lucky for the fight. He can fight, so focus on him. I don’t want him to look bad by worrying about me when he has other problems.” It is.”

Crawford also added that he, like Lopez, Spence, and other high-profile fighters, has had health issues. “Yes,” he said. “I need three surgeries, but I haven’t had them, so will I be disabled too?”
